PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — There is a Freeze Warning for Ashe and Alleghany counties until 9 a.m. There is a Frost Advisory for the rest of the FOX8 viewing area until 10 a.m. Temperatures in the Triad have hovered in the lower-40s this morning, but communities farther away from the Triad have slipped into the mid-30s in many locations.  Early voting begins today in North Carolina, and sunny skies will help to break the chill by lunchtime as temperatures rise to the mid-50s. Daytime highs will be in the lower-60s, which is 10 degrees below normal. Clear skies are ahead for the overnight hours, and lows will be in the upper-30s by daybreak on Friday. We really start to warm up dramatically on Friday as we reach highs in the upper-60s under sunny skies.  High pressure over the Appalachians is going to keep our skies clear for the upcoming week, and temperatures will continue to get warmer each day.  Highs over the weekend will be in the lower-70s, and temperatures rise to the mid-to upper-70s by the first half of next week!
