AUSTIN (KXAN) -- We're waking up to temperatures in the 40s and 50s this morning -- a good 20-25 degrees cooler than yesterday morning! Mainly sunny skies and more of a southeasterly wind will bring afternoon temperatures up to the upper 70s today. Dry skies, light winds and low humidity will make for a gorgeous afternoon to be outside. Temperatures will continue to warm during the week ahead as we get deeper into the 80s by early next week. Warming trend through the start of next week A storm system diving into the Southern Rockies will likely stay too far north to bring us much in the way of rain, but there's a slim chance for a stray shower on Friday and Saturday that should amount to a less than 10% chance for anything meaningful. Weekend forecast Our rain-free stretch in Austin is now up to 41 days and counting. By the time we get to the end of next week, we'll be entering one of the longest rain-free stretches in Austin's Camp Mabry history. MISS THE COLD?
