A man who was fatally shot Wednesday night in the New City neighborhood on the South Side has been identified. Carmelo Alicea, 24, was in an alley about 7 p.m. in the 4800 block of South Elizabeth Street when someone walked up to him and fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said.Alicea, of Forest Park, was pronounced dead at 7:34 p.m., according to the office.No one was in custody.
