Columbia, SC (WOLO) –The city of Columbia is announcing a boil water advisory for customers in the areas of Piney Woods Road from Piney Grove Road to Woodcross Drive. columbia water has experienced a planned shutdown to tie in new water lines to existing water lines. officials warn this could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water. Experts advise customers to boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking and to not use any ice from water that has not been boiled. Columbia Water staff is working to correct the problem as quickly as possible. Officials ask anyone who has questions or concerns to contact the City of Columbia Customer Care Center at 545-3300 with any other inquiries concerning this advisory.
