GENTRY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) -- Three puppies, less than a week old, were abandoned this week inside of a Dollar General Market dumpster, according to Arkansas authorities. The Gentry Police Department said in a Facebook post on Wednesday morning that an employee found the puppies amid "freezing" weather. Gentry and some neighboring areas saw temperatures dip to the low 30s late Tuesday night into Wednesday. The department noted this in its Facebook post and said that it also has footage of the incident. "I'm sure you were aware of the freeze warning last night when you opted to throw these babies out like trash." "Thanks to the hero at the Dollar General Market who heard the puppies crying, they are now safe, warm and will be going to a foster family soon," the post continued. While police didn't release a description of a suspect, the department asked anyone with information about the incident to call 479-736-8400. A frost advisory is in effect for Benton County, where Gentry is located, as well as some neighboring counties from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday. Nexstar's Ashleigh Jackson contributed to this story.
