St. Helena Parish deputies arrest 8 after shooting in Amite

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office arrested eight people in connection to a shooting in Amite.
Around 7:44 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, deputies responded to the 1000 block of Sawmill Road in reference to a shooting in Amite. According to deputies, after an investigation, eight people believed to be involved in the shooting, were arrested.
Out of the eight people who were arrested, two were juveniles, according to deputies. This is an ongoing investigation.
