Two people remain hospitalized after violent incident in Fall River

FALL RIVER, M.A. (WLNE) — Two people remain hospitalized following a violent incident on Dickinson Street early Wednesday morning.
Around 4:30 a.m., Fall River police responded to reports of an altercation at a home.
Upon arrival, officers found a 55-year-old man who had sustained multiple stab wounds to his head and neck, as well as a 42-year-old woman who had been shot in the head.
Both individuals were transported to local trauma centers.
Officials say the man is in stable condition, while the woman remains in critical condition.
The home is located just a few houses away from Atlantis Charter School, which neighbors described as a typically quiet neighborhood.
Police have not said if the two individuals know each other or the circumstances that led to the violence.
The Fall River Police Major Crimes Division and the State Police Detectives Unit are investigating the incident.
