Get Hawaii's latest morning news delivered to your inbox, sign up for News 2 You If you aren't registered to vote, you've still got time, the deadline is October 28. You can do this online or pick up an application from any post office or library. "Voters can sign up at elections.hawaii.gov to receive phone, text, or email notifications of when their ballot has been sent to them, and when their vote has been received," Hawaii Chief Election Officer Scott Nago said. "Once your ballot has been received by election officials, you'll be able to download your virtual #HIVOTED sticker to share on social media." Ballots are going out in the mail this week. "Registered voters will receive their ballot in the mail by October 18," Nago said. "If you do not receive your ballot by that date, contact your County Elections Division immediately. If you have not already, we encourage all voters to check that your registration is current using the Online Voter Registration System at elections.hawaii.gov. It is important that your residence and mailing address are current to ensure that you receive your mail ballot." If you receive another person's ballot, write "not at this address" and return it. It's recommended to research candidate info and ballot questions before filling in your boxes. "Voters can find the 2024 General Election voter guide at elections.hawaii.gov, where they view candidate statements and photos for their specific voting district. Additionally, to better understand the ballot questions, voters can review explanations of the Constitutional and Charter Amendment questions that will be on their ballot," Nago said. There is still time to register? "Yes," Nago said, "the quickest and most convenient way to register is online at elections.hawaii.gov. Voters can also pick up a paper Voter Registration Application from any post office or library." You can register on the Office of Elections website.
