Deputies Seize Over $600,000 Of Counterfeit Goods In Rowan County

SALISBURY, N.C. – Over $600,000 in counterfeit merchandise was seized Saturday following an undercover operation in Rowan County.
The goods were seized from Webb Road Flea Market and was worth approximately $613,939. It included items such as shoes, watches, purses, sunglasses, and clothing.
The merchandise was voluntarily surrendered to the sheriff’s office without criminal charges. The counterfeit goods posed as name brands such as Nike, Coach, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Oakley, Adidas and Puma, the sheriff’s office said.
One person was arrested in Richburg, South Carolina in connection to the operation. Nicholas Stevenson, 45, allegedly refused to cooperate and fought deputies when they tried to arrest him. He was charged with resisting a public officer and misdemeanor drug possession.
Officials said Stevenson had 80 pairs of counterfeit Nike shoes for sale. He also was selling Ralph Lauren clothing and handbags representing Gucci, Prada, and YSL.
In total, Stevenson was attempting to sell almost $21,000 worth of counterfeit goods, the sheriff’s office said.
