MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A woman has been accused of driving under the influence in Merced County after being stopped by a California Highway Patrol captain, CHP said.
Officers say while traveling on Highway 99 in Merced County last week, the captain observed a dark-colored Honda driving unsafe, with a community member pointing out the concern.
CHP says the captain stopped the vehicle and recognized signs of impairment. Another officer then responded to complete the evaluation, determining the female driver was under the influence of alcohol, according to CHP.
Pictures shared by the California Highway Patrol show the woman being handcuffed after officers determined she was under the influence.
As of Tuesday, the identity of the woman is unknown.
