SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- After almost 30 years, a new court hearing has been set for Erik and Lyle Menendez, who are both behind bars at San Diego's The brothers were sentenced to life in prison for murdering their parents, José and Kitty Menendez, in their Beverly Hills home back in 1989. Their case has regained public interest recently after the release of the Netflix series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” which details the events leading up to the crime. Their first trial ended in a hung jury in 1993. Then, the brothers were retried in 1995; however, most of the sexual abuse claims were ruled inadmissible by the judge, meaning the jury never heard about them.  Nearly three decades later, the Menendez brothers are now scheduled for a court hearing on Nov. 29.
