Couple attacked by knifewielding man at North Clairemont Park

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A knife-wielding homeless man attacked a couple who were hanging out at North Clairemont Park Monday, authorities said.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the suspect, 40, approached a 28-year-old man and 27-year-old woman shortly before 10:15 p.m. He reportedly spoke to them in Spanish before pulling out a pocket knife and stabbing the man in the thigh.
Police said the suspect then swung the knife at the woman before leaving the park on foot. The woman was not injured during the attempt.
The man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
Northern Division detectives will be investigating the stabbing. At this point, no arrests have been made in connection to this incident.
