RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Over the last few years, Trunk or Treat events have become a popular alternative for Trick or Treating. 8News has compiled a list of Trunk or Treat events slated to take place in the Richmond area in October.
Richmond
Trick or Treat at VMHC
Trunk Or Treat
Friday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Located at Virginia Museum of History & Culture -- 428 N. Arthur Ashe Boulevard
VMHC is partnering with 20 local nonprofits for its 2nd annual Trick or Treat event
Fall Family Night & Trunk or Treat 2024
Friday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Located at River Road Church -- 8000 River Rd.
River Road Church and Preschool will host a Fall Family Night and Trunk or Treat. Families and kids are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the festivities. According to the church, there will be an animal playground, spooky kids' tattoos, pony rides, an inflatable slide, a book fair, food and more.
Henrico County
2024 Breast Cancer Awareness Flag Football Game and Trunk or Treat Event
Sunday, Oct. 27 from noon to 7 p.m.
Located at Dorey Park, Field 6 -- 2999 Darbytown Rd.
This family-friendly annual event is one where families are welcomed to watch an all-female flag football game, set up a remembrance trunk or just attend.
Trunk or Treat, hosted by American Legion
Sunday, Oct. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Located at American Legion Post -- 1717 Old Hanover Rd., Sandston
This trick-or-treat alternative is an event for families to gather with community members. Local businesses in the area are encouraged to participate as well.
Chesterfield County
Chesterfield County's Trunk or Treat
Thursday, Oct. 24 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Located at Chesterfield County Fairgrounds -- 10300 Courthouse Road
Come out in your best Halloween costume for a fun evening of trunk-or-treating, while enjoying food, vendors and music. Parking will be available at the nearby school parking lots. No glass, alcohol or pets permitted.
Southside Church Trunk or Treat Free Family Event
Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Located at Southside Church - Courthouse Campus -- 6851 Courthouse Road
Tickets are required to enter.
The Tri-Cities
City of Petersburg Trunk-A-Treat Event
Saturday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Located at Petersburg Sports Complex -- 100 Ball Park Rd.
Free family-friendly event
City of Hopewell Trunk or Treat
Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Located at Hopewell City Hall -- 300 N. Main St.
According to City of Hopewell, there will be plenty of candy, live music, games, free hotdogs and a bouncy house.
Hanover County
HanPat Trunk or Treat & Fall Festival
Thursday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Located at Cold Harbor Ruritan Club -- 8131 Walnut Grove Rd., Mechanicsville
Join in on the 3rd annual HanPat Trunk or Treat featuring music, vendors, bouncy houses, hayrides, food and ice cream trucks.
Candypalooza Lane
Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Located at Caravati's Architectural Salvage -- 201 England St., Ashland
New Community Church in Ashland will host Candypalooza Lane, a trunk-or-treat event for the whole family.
