CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) -- A student at Great Bridge High School reported that another student brought a knife on campus Tuesday afternoon, according to a letter to Great Bridge families.
School administrators quickly confiscated the knife and immediately contacted the school resource officer.
The letter stated in part, "We first want to remind our students that weapons of any kind are not allowed on school grounds and having one will result in serious consequences. Secondly, we would like to applaud the student who reported this matter to a trusted adult. Today, we are thankful that our message of 'see something, say something' was effectively used."
No threats were made to students or staff. The incident is being investigated by the Chesapeake Police Department.
