WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Officials said four people are now without a place to live after a fire erupted at an apartment building in Northwest D.C. overnight. In a post on the X platform, the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) said on Wednesday, Oct. 16, around 1:30 a.m., crews responded to a box alarm in the 900 block of New Jersey Avenue. As crews worked to contain the fire, people who lived on the floor sheltered in place. Around 2 a.m., the fire was contained and no one was hurt.
