PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence City Council is set to hold another meeting on its comprehensive plan tonight, the last public input session as it moves closer to being enacted. This will be one of the last opportunities for community members to come and weigh in on this once-in-a-decade public planning document. The comprehensive plan is a blueprint for how officials want the city to grow over the next decade, influencing everything from historic districts to environmental policy, housing, zoning, and everything in between. The council is taking a renewed focus on building green looking forward, aiming to codify environmentally conscious policy into this plan for the next decade. A full draft of the plan is available online and currently sits at 175 pages. The meeting,  happening at 5:30 p.m., will also be streamed on Youtube. While the written testimony was due last night, you still have a chance to speak at the meeting tonight if you want to weigh in on this process. Categories: News
