PINEVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Multiple agencies in Mecklenburg County responded to a working apartment fire in Pineville that left up to 40 people displaced. Units were called to the 10000 block of Oakbrook Drive in response to a structure fire. The fire shut down the entrance to Oakbrook and Johnston Road is backed up as a result, according to Pineville Police Department. Officials ask people to avoid the area if possible. 4 hurt, rescues made in 2-alarm apartment fire in North Carolina Pineville Fire Chief Michael Gerin told Queen City News that it took under 40 minutes to get the fire under control. Eight apartments were impacted by the fire, displacing around 40 people, but there were no injuries. The American Red Cross has been called in to assist residents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
