FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - After 17 years serving Fresno's Tower District, Neighborhood Industries is taking its work to central Fresno. On social media, Neighborhood Industries confirmed that their new location will be at the Times Square Shopping Center at Shaw Avenue and Marks Avenue. The new location does not have a set opening date. Neighborhood Industries Ricky Bravo says the new area is about more than allowing new customers to diversify their closets. "We're definitely much more than a thrift store. I think the biggest driver behind us is our workforce development programs," Bravo said. According to Bravo, Neighborhood Industries works to provide job training and work opportunities for people facing barriers to employment. They have also worked hard to make environmentalism a key foundation of their company. Bravo says Neighborhood Industries has worked to understand the needs of its customers and neighbors in the Tower District, and they plan on doing the same at their Time Square Shopping Center location. "Part of this expansion is not only just expanding our retail footprint," Bravo said. "But growing our partnerships in the northwest Fresno neighborhoods. Seeing where the need is, where we can get involved, and be part of something outside of ourselves." The new location is described as just a small part of the expansion plans Bravo says are coming in the next five years for Neighborhood Industries.
