ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – State health officials said they have an opportunity to tackle the opioid crisis in Albuquerque. Through the new initiative, local emergency personnel can connect with local providers to access medication like suboxone to treat opioid overdoses. Then those first responders can take patients directly to treatment facilities. Albuquerque non-profit’s warehouse burns down with donations inside Albquerque Fire Rescue's medical director said this could help reduce overdose deaths by ensuring people get ongoing care and support.
