RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A new home for artists, performers and concert-goers alike is coming to Richmond.    During a Tuesday morning tour of the new music venue being built right off the James River, project partners announced the name of the new amphitheater.  The space being developed just next door to Brown's Island will be known as the "Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront."    During the Oct. 15 tour, leaders shared their expectations when it comes to the new venue. They said that they are building the amphitheater in hopes that it will create an energy that “reflects Richmond's spirit.”    PREVIOUS: A look at progress on Richmond’s Riverfront Amphitheater months after groundbreaking “I think it is going to give an opportunity for artists that haven't played the city in quite some time an opportunity to come back -- and we're excited," said Matt Rogers with Live Nation about the new amphitheater being built off South Second Street. "We're excited here. We're here for the long term." The new music venue will be able to hold 7,500 guests and is expected to host 30 shows each season. The venue will also provide a chance for different types of performances.   Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront, under construction. In terms of parking, there won't be any on-site. But organizers are promoting access to public transit as well as ride-sharing services.  The new venue will create around 300 jobs each year. Rogers says that it's important that the people who live here can afford to visit when new acts come to town. "Ticket prices [will] range anywhere [from] ... as low as 20 bucks. So, it's a very affordable option for families and music lovers [in] the city."  According to developers, Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront is on track to open in June 2025.
