JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) The Missouri Public Service Commission announced in a Tuesday press release that public hearings to hear Ameren customer comments will begin in January. In-person meetings will occur around the state and some will be virtual, the release says. “Ameren Missouri has filed a rate increase request with the PSC. The requested increase would total approximately $446 million for an approximate increase of 15.49%. For the average residential customer, the proposed increase would be approximately 15.77% or $17.45 per month. Ameren Missouri serves approximately 1.2 million electric customers in Missouri,” the release says. A meeting in Jefferson City will occur at noon on Jan. 23 at the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, Room 310, the release says. That meeting will include public information, a question-and-answer session and testimony from the public. Virtual hearings will occur at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 and noon on Jan. 24. The release says: To attend a virtual local public hearing by telephone, at the time of the virtual hearing, call 855-718-6621, listen to the prompt and enter the meeting number/access code (2630 871 4245 for the Jan. 23 hearing at 6:00 p.m.); or (2867 125 9125 for the Jan. 24 Noon hearing); followed by # (pound/hashtag symbol). If prompted for a password, enter 0319. To attend a virtual local public hearing by video (internet), visit the website www.webex.com. You can also download the Cisco WebEx meetings application on your mobile device, laptop, desktop or tablet prior to the hearing and join the meeting at the hearing time by entering the corresponding meeting number/access code and password listed above. Meeting will also occur Jan. 21 in Cape Girardeau, Jan. 22 in St. Charles, Jan. 22 in St. Louis and Jan. 27 in Sunset Hills.
