Cool, crisp fall air has really settled in across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. You'll need to bundle up as you're heading out and about, as temperatures are running below average. We even saw a few showers containing small hail/graupel earlier on Tuesday, really indicating how cold the air is high up in the atmosphere. Check it out below! We are expecting to see our first frost/freeze of the fall early Wednesday morning. Tracking frosty October nights this week Temperatures will drop down into the low-to-mid 30s, which has prompted a FREEZE WARNING to be issued. It will be in effect for the entire area from 2 AM to 9 AM Wednesday. We expect widespread frost and should we get down to 32°, a freeze will occur. If you have plants that are still growing, cover them up or bring them inside if you can. A FREEZE WARNING is in effect from 2 AM to 9 AM Wednesday.Temperatures fall into the low-to-mid 30s by daybreak Wednesday, meaning frost will be widespread. Wednesday will be another chilly day and it is still possible we see a few stray rain showers. Most of us will stay dry and mostly cloudy though, with high temperatures reaching the mid-50s. Clouds increase again during the day Wednesday.A stray shower is possible, with highs only in the 50s. Wednesday night then will be our coldest night of the week. There's a higher confidence in a potential widespread freeze occurring Wednesday night, as we'll see light winds and mostly clear skies. Low temperatures will be down around the freezing mark area-wide. Frost is likely again on Wednesday night. Some spots could see a freeze as well Wednesday night into Thursday. We tap into a lot of sunshine though through the rest of the week and temperatures will be warming up! We'll rise from the lower 60s on Thursday to the lower 70s by Saturday! While frost is still possible Thursday night, overnight lows will also slowly warm into the 40s by the weekend. Next week will start out in the 70s until a slight rain chance arrives on Tuesday, which will knock the temperatures back down into the 60s temporarily. We ultimately advise you to enjoy the days in the 50s while you can before warm October days come back! Morning: FREEZE WARNING.
