Freeze Watch in effect for Avery late Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Forecast: Tonight: Mountain scattered snow showers. Isolated piedmont showers. Lows: Mid 40s in the Piedmont. Right near freezing in the mountains. Wednesday: Sunny and chilly! Highs will struggle to reach 60. Overnight lows in the Piedmont fall into the upper 30s. Frost is possible, mainly north of I-85. The average first frost is October 28th. Lows in the mountains drop into the 20s. Thursday: Sunny. Highs in the low 60s. Another night in the 30s with patchy frost possible for our northern counties. Friday: Sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 60s. Tropics: The Hurricane Hunters are flying into Invest 94L which is over the central Atlantic Ocean. Development is unlikely over the next couple of days, but as this low pressure moves westward, environmental conditions are more favorable for development.
