BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Two suspects were arrested following a high-speed pursuit after an alleged larceny took place Tuesday at Dick's Sporting Goods in the Town of Batavia, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office announced. Officers were notified of the alleged larceny, which they said occurred around 4:21 p.m. Officials said two men attempted to conceal a large amount of store merchandise and fled the store in a Honda Accord. According to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, two deputies tried to stop a vehicle matching the reported description. Officials said the vehicle initially stopped for the deputies, but then allegedly fled the scene shortly after they made contact at the intersection of State Route 98 and Park Road. The pursuit continued onto the New York State Thruway, where the suspects started to discard the stolen property as they fled, officials said. The chase continued from the thruway onto I-490 eastbound when the suspect vehicle was stopped by multiple police agencies. The suspects, identified as Supreme Hines and Eric Ball Jr., were arrested for the following charges: tampering with physical evidence fourth-degree attempted grand larceny fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property second-degree obstructing governmental administration sixth-degree conspiracy Hines was also arrested for the charge of third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. He was issued multiple uniform traffic tickets and was held for court, officials said. Ball was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in court on Nov. 12.
