HAYMARKET, Va. (DC News Now) -- A house exploded in Haymarket Tuesday afternoon. First responders headed to the 5900 block of Colby Hunt Ct. for a gas leak at a home around 4:15 p.m., officials said. Responders evacuated the home. They then called 911 and the four people living inside the home were evacuated. The Prince William County Fire Marshal's Office said that around 5:35 p.m., an hour after the gas line was hit, responding units reported that the house had exploded. Washington Gas responded to secure the leak. Manassas man arrested in New Jersey in relation to couple found dead in basement The Fire Marshal's Office said that no injuries were reported and there was no further danger to the community. Crews were still on the scene to put out the fire as of 7 p.m. The deputy fire chief told DC News Now that the situation could have been "catastrophic" and other neighbors said it was "pretty traumatic to feel that explosion." The situation is still being investigated.
