ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – One person is dead following a shooting on Bay Street near Sixth Street Tuesday afternoon. According to RPD, officers responded to the area around 4:53 p.m. for the report of a person shot and found one man with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police say officers provided aid until an ambulance arrived to transport the man to Strong Memorial Hospital. The man later died at the hospital due to his injuries. Rochester police have blocked off a portion of Bay Street near Sixth Street as the investigation continues. RPD's Major Crimes Section will lead the investigation.
