(KRON) -- A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection to making threats at a North Bay elementary school on Monday. Kevin Harrington, a Santa Rosa resident, was in Nevada at the time of his arrest, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff. The sheriff's office was called to Penngrove Elementary School for a "possible school threat" at about 11:36 a.m. Monday. According to officials, it was clear the threat was specific to Penngrove. The school was locked down and additional resources were deployed including additional deputies, SWAT team members, K-9 units and Sonoma Sheriff's Henry 1 helicopter. The decision was later made to evacuate the school. Students and staff were evacuated by bus, classroom by classroom, with a deputy escort to the reunification point at Rancho Adobe Fire's Penngrove station, police said. While parents were picking up their children, detectives with the Sonoma Sheriff's Violent Crime Unit worked to locate the suspect. Detectives, police said, determined the suspect was likely out of the area and worked to locate him. Further investigation determined that the suspect, Harrington, was likely in the South Lake Tahoe area. With the assistance of the South Lake Tahoe Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Harrington was located and arrested in Nevada. Sonoma County Violent Crimes detectives responded to Douglas County to gather further evidence. Harrington, according to police, was booked into Douglas County Jail for felony criminal threats and possession of a stolen vehicle. He is being held on $500,000 bail and currently awaiting extradition to Sonoma County.
