SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- The annual Keep KELOLAND Warm project is underway. On Tuesday, several bags of coats were ready to head out the door of the St. Francis House to people in need. WaTiki, Rapid City waterpark to add hotel access "And that's also hats, gloves, and scarves," St. Francis House CEO Julie Becker said. The St. Francis House is working with about 20 agencies to get the winter clothing to people in need. Becker says larger coat sizes such as 2, 3, and 4X are in demand. Keep KELOLAND Warm also needs accessories like gloves to help protect people against frostbite. "Our gloves got really depleted at the end of the season last year, so we have very few, and we can always use hats," Becker said. CNA Surety is helping sort coats during the month of October before they're sent out into the community. "We go through each one. We make sure that of course, the zippers work really well," Becker said. "Our winters here can be brutal, so we want to make sure everybody is warm as they can be every day and every night," said Julie Mohr with CNA Surety. And your donations will help Keep KELOLAND Warm during the cold months. "It's all about taking care of others and making sure everybody is safe and warm," Becker said. You can drop your donations off at Sioux Falls Lewis stores, except the downtown location, until November 27th. You can also drop them off at the St. Francis House until April.
