Former tribal police officer charged with sexual abuse

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- A jury has convicted a former tribal police officer of sexual abuse.
Court documents say that last year a young girl reported that 54-year-old Oscar Hudspeth Sr. sexually abused her while he was married to her mother.
41-year-old woman shot in home early Tuesday morning
The abuse happened at their home in Oglala while the girl's mother was at work.
Hudspeth was working as a law enforcement officer for the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety at the time. He faces up to life in federal prison.
A sentencing date has not been set.
