NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Online bidding officially opened for the Norfolk International Airport Auction Tuesday.   Beneath the main levels of the airport is a fenced storage area that holds a treasure chest full of the airport's lost and found items. Some of those things are currently being auctioned off to the highest bidder.    "Every one of these auctions for the Norfolk airport always have good, good items in it,” said Scott Freeman, co-owner of Auction 757.   Auction 757 is hosting the online auction. Freeman said people are already putting in bids on everything you can think of.   "We may see clothing, jewelry, shoes, tools, as well as some of the airport surplus that the airport gets rid of in the auction,” Freeman said.   The airport surplus includes items like plant pots, trash cans and a floor cleaner.   Five vehicles are also available, four that were abandoned at the airport and one former airport police SUV.   An in-person inspection of all of the items will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 on Miller Store Road.    "Do your homework. Look over the items so you know what you're bidding on," Freeman said. "Do some background on it, especially if you're considering buying a vehicle. Know the prices, what it sells for, do your due diligence to make sure that you're actually getting the bargain that you think you're getting." Bidding will close on Oct. 22.
