MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) -- A Dayton man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a stolen vehicle, according to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. At approximately 7:12 p.m. Saturday, a Mercer County deputy pulled over a vehicle being driven by 21-year-old William D. McSwain for a reported traffic violation. The traffic stop happened near the intersection of U.S. 127 and State Road 274. During the traffic stop, authorities learned the vehicle had been stolen from the Dayton area and called the vehicle owner to confirm. The deputy also said McSwain appeared to be driving impaired. The Mercer County Sheriff's office arrested McSwain, who faces a felony charge of "receiving stolen property" along with multiple misdemeanor charges. McSwain has a preliminary hearing in Mercer County Common Pleas Court set for Friday at 1:30 p.m., and the case is being reviewed by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
