Rocky Mountain High School was placed in Hall Check Tuesday morning as police searched nearby for a “Person of interest.” A letter sent to families of students who attend Rocky Mountain told parents that the school was placed in Hall Check out of an abundance of caution. CBS2 learned from a Meridian spokesperson that the individual has been located and detained by police and the school has been taken off of Hall Check to resume normal school operations. There was an initial report of a suspicious subject walking near the school but not on school property. Officers made contact with the juvenile who ultimately fled from police heading towards the school. The juvenile was arrested and is being booked into juvenile detention for Resisting and Obstructing and Battery on Law Enforcement. Information about why police were looking for this individual and why they have been arrested is still being gathered.
