BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man was arrested for attempted murder, burglary and stalking after he allegedly broke into a woman's home, shot and wounded her with her own gun early Tuesday morning in southwest Bakersfield, police said. The woman was wounded by gunfire during a struggle with the intruder, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. The woman was alone with her infant child at the time, police said. Kason Guyton Trial: Oct. 15 Bakersfield police identified the suspected intruder as Aron Joseph Perry, 44. Officers were called to a home on Yellowstone River Drive in southwest Bakersfield at around 5:30 a.m. The department said the woman told officers an unknown male entered her home and she was alone with her baby. The woman armed herself with a gun and confronted the intruder, police said. During a struggle for the gun, Perry gained possession of it and shot the woman once in her leg, police said in a release. Perry then ran from the home. Man allegedly killed by son, 19, in California was renowned photojournalist Officials said an officer located Perry in the area following the incident. He was detained and later arrested. Perry was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, burglary and stalking, police said.
