Pedestrian dies after being struck by minivan in Bonita

A pedestrian walking on a Bonita road was struck and killed by a minivan Friday night, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
The incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. after a 66-year-old man driving a Chrysler Town and Country struck another man walking on Bonita Road west of Willow Street, CHP officials said.
The pedestrian died before he could be taken to a hospital. His name was not released pending notification of his family.
The minivan’s driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
No other information was immediately available.
