SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- As the trial of accused Bob Lee killer Nima Momeni heads into its second day, Momeni's sister, Khazar Momeni, is expected to take the stand on Tuesday. Lee, who was 43 when he was killed, was at Khazar's apartment and left with her brother Nima in the early hours of April 4, 2023. The two drove in Nima's white BMW to a secluded location nearby under the Bay Bridge where Lee was fatally stabbed. Defense attorneys maintain it was self-defense on Momeni's part and that Lee had actually attempted to stab the defendant. Prosecutors, however, argue that Nima violently stabbed Lee after becoming convinced that something "inappropriate" had happened between him and Khazar. Tesla driver who crashed into Fremont apartment building ID’d In opening statements, prosecutors portrayed Nima as a "wannabe tough guy big brother" whose overprotectiveness led to him acting as a knife-wielding murderer. During Monday's proceedings, jurors heard and saw chilling audio and video of Lee's final moments as he stumbled away from the scene, leaving a trail of blood before eventually succumbing to his wounds. The court also was presented with text messages from Khazar, including one in which she told Nima that she had not been raped by Lee, and that cocaine was making him act like a "lunatic."
