Sizzling & Noodles is opening in December A new restaurant conveying Asian cuisine is coming to the Convoy District, bringing sizzling plates of proteins and variations on noodle dishes. Sizzling & Noodles is opening in mid-to-late December next to the soon-to-reopen China Max restaurant in the Plaza del Sol complex.
It replaces Tasty Pot, a Taiwanese hot pot restaurant that was forced to shutter when China Max was destroyed in a fire during the pandemic. While ownership remains the same, the team decided not to reopen another Tasty Pot since other hot pot restaurants have since sprouted up around Convoy Street. The proprietors still run the Tasty Pot outpost in Mira Mesa, though another franchise owner operates the Tasty Pot in Oceanside.
They have been renovating the interior and are still finalizing the menu, which will have a focus on Taiwanese and Japanese dishes. Calling the restaurant “the first of its kind in San Diego,” the Sizzling & Noodles owners tell Eater that its still-sizzling plates will feature proteins like beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and tofu.
