Oct 15, 2024
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs is asking the public for feedback on a plan to guide growth and development for the southeast area of Colorado Springs.
The City said the Southeast Strong Community Plan will address key development topics such as transportation, economic development, cultural celebration, housing, climate resiliency, public safety, and public health. This is the first community planning project undertaken through the Neighborhood Planning Program and focuses on six neighborhoods:
Deerfield Hills
Pikes Peak Park North
Pikes Peak Park South
Soaring Eagles
Southborough
Spring Creek
The City is holding an online survey and hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Stompin' Groundz, located at 2050 Jet Wing Drive, and doors open at 5 p.m.
"We are excited to share the draft Southeast Strong Community Plan with the public and receive additional feedback from those residents who live and work in the southeast and know the area best," said Interim Planning Director Kevin Walker. "This is the first of twelve community plans the City will be creating and it will play an important role in continuing to inform the future of southeast Colorado Springs.”
