(KRON) -- A “possible school threat” was behind a lockdown at Penngrove Elementary School Monday morning, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. “All students and staff are safe and accounted for,” the sheriff’s office said at 1:20 p.m. A parent reunification point was established south of the school at the Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District at 11000 Main Street. On Monday night, the Petaluma City Schools (PCS) announced the closures of two schools for Tuesday, Oct. 15: Penngrove Elementary and Kenilworth Junior High. All other campuses in the district will be open Tuesday. "These school closures are in direct correlation to a threat that was made today by an adult toward Penngrove Elementary," said PCS Acting Superintendent Esmeralda Mondragon. "No threat was made toward Kenilworth Junior High, however out of an abundance of caution, and due to a connection in the investigation, we made the decision to also close Kenilworth Junior High." No further information about the possible threat was immediately available. Bay City News contributed to this report.
