(KRON) – More than a dozen Blue Shield of California employees will be laid off by Dec. 11, according to a state filing. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice said 61 employees are set to be discharged from employment in multiple counties including Alameda, El Dorado, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Joaquin. Boeing will lay off 10% of its employees as a strike by factory workers cripples airplane production These layoffs are not the first of the year. The nonprofit health insurance let go of 140 people in January.  Blue Shield of California is headquartered in Oakland.
