NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) The Narragansett Fire Department said a 59-year-old man died Monday after a witness reported seeing him fall overboard. The department received a call at 12:54 pm saying a male fell into the water while his boat remained in drive, just north of Black Point. The Narragansett Fire Department Marine-2 spotted the man in the water and rescue swimmers recovered the patient, according to Narragansett Fire Chief Scott Partington. The rescue swimmers began life saving efforts on the man while the vessel headed back to the port, where South Kingstown EMS met the patient at the dock. Once at the dock, he was transported to the South County Hospital. The incident remains under investigation by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. Categories: News, Rhode Island
