NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Taylor Swift fans will be coming to New Orleans next week for her Eras Tour, and some of them are upset because their hotel reservations have been canceled. The only option was to rebook at a higher rate. Do not mess with the "Swifties." ‘Swift Selfie Studio’ at Fringe + Co. in New Orleans for Eras Tour "To hear this, to find another thousand dollars in a week is unheard of," said Taylor Swift fan Lisa Seidler. Seidler, who's from New Jersey, booked a room at The Lafayette Hotel downtown for the Eras Tour. "I did so much research and I picked them," she said. She was excited until last week when she got an email saying her hotel reservation had been canceled and she needed to rebook at a higher rate. Although they did offer a 15% discount. Seidler said she previously paid "$2,577 but the new rate would be $3,500." This was not something she was just going to shake off. More Taylor Swift News Apparently, the mix-up happened when Kasa Living Inc. took over management of The Lafayette Hotel from former operation LuxUrban on Oct. 4 of this year. Now, their tune has changed. LuxUrban was evicted from The Lafayette Hotel by the owner, Valentino Hotel Company. Good news for the "Swifties" and good karma for the hotel. A statement from Kasa reads: "We share the excitement of our guests for Taylor Swift coming to New Orleans. We are committed to ensuring that those who made reservations with the previous operator have a special experience. To that end, we will honor the rates booked with the previous operator for all affected guests." Scary Swift! Taylor Swift-themed Skeleton House ‘Terror Swift: The scEras Tour’ If guests decided to cancel their reservations, they now have to get refunds from the previous hotel operator, LuxUrban. WGNO reached out to LuxUrban for a statement but hasn't heard back yet.
