BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 19-year-old man accused of a fatal stabbing in northwest Bakersfield pleaded not guilty Monday to a charge of first-degree murder. Bradley Perez was ordered held without bail in the death of Lawrence James Leyvas, 20, according to court records. He's due back in court Oct. 24. Mom of unlicensed driver in fatal crash held to answer on 2 counts Leyvas was stabbed around 2 a.m. on Oct. 6 on Stone River Court, south of Hageman Road and west of Renfro Road, officials said. He was taken to Mercy Hospital Southwest, where he was pronounced dead. Perez was arrested Oct. 10.
