BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A woman who allowed her unlicensed teen son to drive and a fatal crash occurred has been ordered to stand trial, according to court records. A judge on Monday found sufficient evidence for the case against Candie Springer to proceed. She's charged with felony child cruelty and a misdemeanor count of allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle. 2 people dead, young child left with life-threatening injuries after crash in east Bakersfield Springer is due back in court Oct. 31. Last year, Springer let her then-15-year-old son take her Dodge Challenger for what she thought would be a quick trip to the market. Jace Springer instead picked up friends, sped on city streets and led police on a chase that ended with the car crashing into a tree. A passenger died. Jace Springer accepted a plea agreement in juvenile court last year.
