KBI: Man shot and killed over dispute with neighbor in southeast Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says a suspect was arrested in a homicide Friday. It happened around 8:20 p.m. in Frotenac.
The KBI says Frontenac police received a report of shots fired. Officers responded and found 39-year-old Jonathan D. Brewer of Frontenac unconscious at a neighbor's home in the 800 block of N. Cayuga. EMS arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but Brewer died.

The KBI says the preliminary investigation found that Brewer and another 19-year-old neighbor were involved in a dispute. During the dispute, the 19-year-old allegedly shot Brewer. He was booked on suspicion of second-degree murder. Formal charges are pending.
