TOPEKA (KSNT) - Law enforcement is reporting a train derailment in north Topeka Monday morning. Abigail Christian with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office told 27 News that local law enforcement received a call regarding a train derailment around 10:40 a.m. on Oct. 14 in the area of Northwest Curtis Street and Northwest Tyler Street. A 27 news reporter visited the area and found a single car had slipped off the tracks. 27 News has reached out to both Union Pacific and BNSF for more information on this situation, along with the City of Topeka. Additional information will be added here as it becomes available.
