The money comes from the federal government's State Small Business Credit Initiative Investing (SSBCI) in America Small Business Opportunity Program, which was expanded by the American Rescue Plan Act. The SSBCI says it supports small businesses across the country. In Rhode Island, the SSBCI has helped Commerce provide small businesses with legal, accounting and financial services.
