The City of New Orleans plans to construct a “food truck plaza” under the U.S. 90 overpass at 2739 Earhart Blvd. in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. The scope of work includes: pressure washing columns, painting columns, patch concrete pavement, remove concrete pavement, pavement striping, install true grid aggregate pavement, and temporary and decorative fencing on Claiborne Avenue. The plaza will have enough room for seven food trucks. The $1.7 million scope of work is set be completed by TEH Enterprise LLC. At 730 St. Peter St., a nearly $4 million interior renovation has been proposed to the The Vieux Carré Commission (VCC) for a new restaurant. Work will include “white boxing” of the first floor, interior renovations, installation of new HVAC, electrical, and mechanical work. The second and third floors, which will also see renovation, are being proposed as mixed-use space. Carimi Construction and Development LLC will perform the work. Permits for tenant buildout for the new Trader Joe’s in partnership with the Feil Organization at 2501 Tulane Ave. totaling nearly $1.7 million have been issued and will be performed by Highland Commercial Construction.
