MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man is dead after he was struck by his own car when another vehicle crashed into it early Monday morning on Interstate 40 near Appling Road. According to Memphis Police, a driver was traveling on I-40 when it hit the back of an unoccupied vehicle just before 1:30 a.m. The driver of the vehicle that was hit got out to check his car for damages from a previous crash. The driver did not survive his injuries, police say. This is still an ongoing investigation. Detectives haven't said if the other driver is facing any charges or fines.
