SCOTT COUNTY, KY. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – A man accused of killing a deputy during a traffic stop last year is scheduled for a status hearing Monday. Court records indicate that Steven Sheangshang will appear in court Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. Sheangshang is charged with the shooting and killing of Deputy Caleb Conley during a traffic stop on I-75 in Georgetown in May 2023. He was arrested in Lexington after a person was shot during a carjacking. Officials report that Sheangshang faces numerous charges in multiple counties, including the murder of an officer and robbery. He is scheduled to go to trial in Scott County early next year.
