BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The LSU Tigers are set to face the Arkansas Razorbacks in Reynolds Razorback Stadium at Broyles Field on Saturday, Oct. 19. LSU will be going into the game with an overall record of 5-1 after an overtime win in Tiger Stadium over Ole Miss. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 337 yards and three touchdowns. Nussmeier was subsequently named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Wide receiver Kyren Lacy caught the winning touchdown in overtime and linebacker Whit Weeks had 18 total tackles and one sack. Weeks was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week while Bradyn Swinson was the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week. Going to Fayetteville for the LSU football game? Where to eat, what to do with family LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke about the win over Ole Miss at a news conference on Monday, Oct. 14.  Kelly said, "when you believe you're gonna come out and win these games, you just keep fighting and closing out games is part of what you need to do."  He said, "we're at that point now where, they've set a standard for how we want to play this game." The next opponent for LSU is coming off a victory over Tennessee. The Razorbacks have an overall record of 4-2 after the 19-14 win over the Volunteers.  The Razorbacks are led by quarterback Taylen Green who has thrown for 1,502 yards and five touchdowns this season. Kelly said Green is "big, physical, can run, make some plays with his arm and legs." The LSU head coach also talked about offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino. He said that Petrino "makes a big difference in their offense. It is diverse in its running game." The Tigers come into this game having beaten Arkansas in 7 of their last 8 matchups.
